This is the long awaited `Thunder And Lightning Tour'; the tour that was to prove Phil Lynott's and Thin Lizzy's last. The year is 1983, the venue Dublin and the stage is rockin'! To add to the already charged atmosphere of a concert in waiting, we have fast-forwarded in time to include nostalgic comment from Phil's band mates Brian
Robertson and Eric Bell recalling their eventful times together, plus the indestructible footballing legend George Best and musician Brush Shiel, recalling their many memories of the rocker and friend. But all this is merely a prelude to what is a pulverising gig containing all conquering favourites such as `Whiskey In The Jar' and `Dancing In The Moonlight' and many more. The `Thunder And Lightning Tour' is quite simply the greatest performance from a group who were at their electrifying best.

This is sad, Really sad. Phil Lynott was proud dubliner and playing at his home town was his favourite gig, so to see the extent of Phils obvious demise through drugs/booze is painful. Not how this superb band and man should be remembered and the camera work, sound and production are appalling. This should not have been released.. Get the Live and Dangerous DVD with the additional concert from Sight and Sound in '83 which was the pre tour warm up and this showcases how good the band were (6 months previous to this). I same Lizzy both nights on 14/15-2-83 at Sheffield City Hall and they were Awesome so I it pains me to see this how the band ended up.
Please don't buy this because although I can't deny it's not Lizzy.. It's not Lizzy that we all knew existed and Rocked..
RIP Philo.
Oh Dear!!

After the anticipation & joy of finally purchasing a treasured memory I was left feeling very sad. As a dvd production it's awful, sound is terrible, camera work at best poor & all in all a desperately disappointing way to remember such a wonderful band, it's plain from the show how frazzled Phil was by this time even though on the two appearances they made in Ipswich on this tour he was outstanding, The extras so much touted on the disc are pretty dreadful, save your money & pray that a suitable memorial is released soon to this fantastic showman.
