Holly Kennedy (Hilary Swank) is beautifual, smart and married to the love of her life - a passionate, funny and impetuous irishman named Gerry (Gerard Butler). So when Gerry's life is taken by an illness, it takes the life out of Holly. The only one who can help her is the person who is no longer there. Nobody knows Holly better than Gerry. So it's a good thing he planned ahead!
Before he died, Gerry wrote Holly a series of letters that will guide her, not only through her grief but in rediscovering herself. The first message arrives on Holly's 30th birthday in the form of a cake, and to her utter shock, a tape recording from Gerry, who proceeds to order her to 'get out and celebrate herself!' In the weeks and months that follow, more letters from Gerry are delivered, each sending her on a new adventure and each signing off in the same way: P.S. I Love You!

First I should advise that I am a bloke - just in case it may seem a biased review. I went to see this with my other half as she raved about the book which she read while we were in Florida - yep it even competed with the magic of Florida lol. I went of my own free will as we like to enjoy the odd night out and while I never read the book, in my opinion it failed as both a comedy and a drama/love story - falling disappointingly not between those but some way off. My other half was almost inconsolable as she reckoned it bore little resemblance to the warmth of the book (which had her reaching for the Kleenex on several occasions). Possibly the biggest failure we've watched as a couple at the pictures - but more so for her, but she is a lover of books.

This film has nothing on the book! I thought that the book was utterly amazing but the film was a complete downer. Alot of it was missed out in the film and made totally different. I was really excited about this film but i dnt see why i bothered. The books are always better than the films..i should really learn my lesson lol

I cried from the beginning to end, this film made me an emotional wreck!
I was dubious from the beginning as I heard it wasn't very good, and having read the book (which again, made me bawl!), I was pleasantly surprised, so surprised by the greatness of this film, it has been bumped up into my Top10 girlie films.
Tissues are a must! Hilary Swank and Gerard Butler gave an amazing performance, didn't think I'd find Gerard as sexy without his Spartan outfit and beard, but Oh Yeah, he was!
I loved every minute of this film! BUY! BUY! BUY!
